Initial impressions-- arrival in Chungli

Chungli by night, plus some reflections from the window of the 27th floor, whence this photo was taken. This shot conveys an impression of being in a pretty big city, and simultaneously of being above it. From the 27th floor, the street noise is pretty dull, but the fireworks come through loud and clear. And there were always fireworks. I never got a satisfactory answer about them, I suspect the Taiwanese may simply sleep through them. But I'm pretty sure it's not the same thing as in American cities ("Fireworks, uh, yeah, those were just fireworks.")
